today was really fun. i had some of the homies over, like GK, ben chong, vince, cliff, joash, jasper, neil, ben lu, liak and neil. a halo fest ensued where i was owned, but i got my revenge in nba street. i still can't believe how off-form i was today. i should game more often :). we then went to prince charles crescent to play soccer. after like 10 mins, everyone started picking up the ball and charged for the goal. quite funny. we then played penalties, with ben chong and gk scoring well against me as keeper. we then went back to swim, which was much more fun and chaotic. then everyone started leaving one by one, and i was still dominated in halo, but not as badly as in the morning. a very unproductive day, but fun nevertheless.
onto a topic of discussion. why do people insult you? the other day while we were sessioning, a few guys came over and made fun of us. like what my friend said, they only insult you cos it makes them feel better. studies have shown these type of people are very immature, as they are so insecure about themselves that they have to resort to putting other people down to feel good. i have a lot of experience in this aspect, cos i get teased all the time for wearing my larger-than-lfe sunglasses. at first i felt some animousity towards those who teased me, but then i realised if i teased them back i would only be stooping to their level. so after awhile, i decided either to ignore them or just say 'thanks, i like yours too' or something like that. then i can walk away with my head help up high, and leave them thinking about whether it would've been as pleasant if the tables were turned on them. likewise, those who tease us while we dance are just jealous that they can't pull the stunts and outrageous moves we're capable of, so to make themselves feel better they tease us. i can tell it get's to my friends, but after awhile they'll harden and realise we're better than them.
the quote for the day is '
Stay hungry. Stay foolish ' said by steve jobs. we must always strive to better ourselves, if not the competition will catch up. this is done by taking CALCULATED risks, which pay off, most of the time at least.
