today was tiring, but quite fun nevertheless. i had chem prac which is always fun, and managed to skip lit cos i had to go for cheering! there were so many people at toa payoh swimming complex, and we cheered our hearts out. we collabarated with MGS and ACJC, so our cheering was slightly easier. we ended up winning the 'B' div title, which was cool.

onto the topic of stress. stress is good in small amounts, but dangerous, and even deadly, in large ones. just this morning i heard an account of someone who wanted to commit suicide, because we was undergoing stress. how much stress must one endure to be finally pushed over the edge? this guy tried to commit suicide cos he was being bullied, and the perpetrators have been caught and are about to be disciplined. research has shown that cancer is not only caused by the cancerous food you eat or by the amount of smoke you inhale, although those are the main reasons. cancer is also caused by excessive stress, be it in a relationship, at school or at work. personally, i work great under stress because if it's near an exam and haven't studied yet, i'll be really disciplined and get down to work. i know a lot of other people are like that too. however, there's a time in everyone's life where the stress you endure excedes your tolerance limit, and some people become very temperamental and moody because of that. whenever i'm stressed, i try not to take it out on my friends, but in a sense, take it out on God. i'll unleash my burden onto him, for my pastor once said that a bigger problem for God, the easier it is for Him to solve. my final point is that if you are feeling stressed, you can always turn to Him, cos He'll be there to catch you when you fall and pick you back up again. sometimes when i'm studying, i tend to neglect Him and not do my quiet time. after a few times i realized that after you spend one or two minutes doing your quiet time with Him, you'll feel much more rejuvenated and be able to concentrate and absorb easily. the important thing is not to neglect Him and always pray, cos it helps.

beacuse everyone needs to lighten up a little, here's a funny quote for the day. Bill Clinton once said 'People who have more birthdays tend to live longer'. whether that was intentional or accidental, it was funny nevertheless. bye!
